Our FRP Expertise Can Support Your Unique Application

FRP is becoming the material of choice for many infrastructure applications due to its performance, weight and corrosion-resistance benefits. We have the experience and expertise to evaluate if FRP is the right material for your unique application.

Unlike traditional construction materials, FRPs give you the ability to engineer the properties of the material and can be very cost-effective options. Applications can include (but are not limited to) these:

  • Bridge Wind Fairings

Bridges can be subject to high winds generated from hurricanes and other strong storm systems. FRP wind fairings offer designers a lightweight, corrosion-resistant solution for ensuring these high winds are deflected away from the bridge.

  • Wicket & Sector Gates

Inland waterways throughout North America, including the Intracoastal Waterway, require a series of gate structures to control water levels to ensure navigation throughout the year. FRP wicket and sector gates provide a lightweight, corrosion-resistant alternative to steel gates that require frequent, expensive maintenance.

  • Trench Covers

Most waterfront piers run the utilities (water, steam and electric) below the deck for safety reasons. Traditionally, designers provide access points to the below-deck utilities using heavy, precast concrete trench covers. Lightweight FRP trench covers can support high loads and are a fraction of the weight of concrete, allowing for fast, safe removal.

  • Design-Build/Value Engineer

Design-build, a common method for executing large projects, demands innovative solutions to achieve success. Custom fabricated FRP structures, specific to your project, speed construction. We have the experience with design, construction and FRPs, and we’re ready to work hand-in-hand with you during each stage of the project to identify and evaluate areas where FRPs will help you succeed.
